The article presents the model for vocational education, research, innovation and development which, since 2007, has been studied and implemented at the Istituto Pavoniano Artigianelli per le Arti Grafiche (Trento) in collaboration with the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science of the University of Trento. The article aims to contribute to the development of a new coherent didactic model, highlighting the contribution that the theories of complex systems can give in the interpretation of the characteristics of knowledge society. On this ground, the pedagogical guidelines and their practical – didactic and organizational – implementation will be described.
