Mario Filzi, brother of the irredentist Fabio executed with Cesare Battisti in 1916, was a student in Vienna of Meyer-Lübke. Shortly before leaving for war, in 1914, on the advice of his teacher he delivered to Monaci for “Studj romanzi” the first part of a pioneering study on the syntax of Italian dialects destined to remain unfinished. The occasion for a re-reading comes from the currently ongoing examination of the Filzi family papers in Rovereto. The essay, a unicum of its kind, is still of great interest, both in relation to its main source, John Ries, and to its later use by Gerhard Rohlfs.

Abstract
Mario Filzi, brother of the irredentist Fabio executed with Cesare Battisti in 1916, was a student in Vienna of Meyer-Lübke. Shortly before leaving for war, in 1914, on the advice of his teacher he delivered to Monaci for “Studj romanzi” the first part of a pioneering study on the syntax of Italian dialects destined to remain unfinished. The occasion for a re-reading comes from the currently ongoing examination of the Filzi family papers in Rovereto. The essay, a unicum of its kind, is still of great interest, both in relation to its main source, John Ries, and to its later use by Gerhard Rohlfs.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
