Zum Einsatz des GeWiss-Korpus im Rahmen einer mehrsprachigkeitsdidaktischen Vermittlung der gesprochenen Wissenschaftssprache

This paper aims at illustrating in which way the GeWiss corpus, a comparable corpus of spoken academic language, can be employed in a multilingual approach to teaching German as a foreign language and how its use can contribute to fostering and enhancing metalinguistic and crosslinguistic awareness as well as skills of competent language comparison among university students. For this purpose, two exemplary corpus analyses will be carried out, aimed at examining a typical noun of academic language (ger. Begriff / Konzept, it. concetto, engl. concept) as well as a discourse marker (ger. entschuldigung, it. scusate, engl. sorry), in order to subsequently highlight the specific learning potential of such a corpus search.
