The article aims to highlight how the transformative idea is treated in Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis. In discontinuity with respect to the metamorphic paradigm of Ovid and Goethe, Franz Kafka delineates with crystalline sobriety not a change of form that implies the idea of a being persisting under the surface of variation, but the introduction into the story of a new, ontologically different reality, that is then told through clear logical-causal connections and a strict consequential concatenation. A different reality that will then give rise to other transformations within the system of characters.

Abstract
The article aims to highlight how the transformative idea is treated in Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis. In discontinuity with respect to the metamorphic paradigm of Ovid and Goethe, Franz Kafka delineates with crystalline sobriety not a change of form that implies the idea of a being persisting under the surface of variation, but the introduction into the story of a new, ontologically different reality, that is then told through clear logical-causal connections and a strict consequential concatenation. A different reality that will then give rise to other transformations within the system of characters.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
