First principle calculations are performed to show that the bending rigidity of graphene can be softened considerably with in-plane stretching. This phenomenon can be attributed to stretch-induced loosening of atomic packing and should be of fundamental significance for graphene-based structures and devices. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.

Abstract
First principle calculations are performed to show that the bending rigidity of graphene can be softened considerably with in-plane stretching. This phenomenon can be attributed to stretch-induced loosening of atomic packing and should be of fundamental significance for graphene-based structures and devices. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.File in questo prodotto:
