La favola latina e la "Disciplina clericalis" di Pietro Alfonsi

This paper aims to demonstrate the relationship between Petrus Alfonsi’s "Disciplina clericalis" and the Latin fables. This indirect connection, although less close than the direct connection with the Jewish and Oriental tradition, is evident on the rhetorical, narrative and thematic level and is due to the enormous diffusion of Phaedrus’ and Avianus’ fables during the Middle Ages through didactical praxis and folklore.
