This paper proposes a few original hypotheses with application of decentralized integrated system for energy recovery from different municipal waste flows. These flows are characterized by low and high heterogeneity. For each case-studies data regarding the mass and energy balance with special attention on the separation process of the RMSW will be presented. The approach analyses different treatment system for municipal waste giving important information for the decision markers.
