Abstract

The growth of energy prices and the unfavorable forecast of world economical crises had lead to a higher interest of the agents regarding the valorification of waste. On the other hand the waste management is covered by specific EU regulations that provide the targets for recycling and recovery of waste. This paper will present technological scenarios for energetic recovery of packing waste based on pyrolysis, gasification, combustion and combined cycle treatments. The experimental aim of this research is to conclude the thermo-chemical characterization and the energetic potential of the materials. The last part of the paper will concern technological solutions focused on: waste structure and heterogeneity, energetic potential, thermal cycle, efficiency of the process and type of energy produced. The process chosen will lead to the optimal electrical output for covering a part of the energy demand of an urban area.
