The use of single-incision slings (SIS) in treatment of female stress urinary incontinence offers good results with only minimally side effects and will find more entrance in modern incontinence surgery. This minisling is inserted over one single vaginal incision and fixed on both side on pelvic wall tissue with special anchors without passage through the groin avoiding a blind passage of tape. In comparison to the established suburethral tapes there are equal success rates with less complications. Randomized prospective studies are needed to evaluate whether, in the long run, the benefits of single incision technique can be associated with satisfying continence results.

Abstract
The use of single-incision slings (SIS) in treatment of female stress urinary incontinence offers good results with only minimally side effects and will find more entrance in modern incontinence surgery. This minisling is inserted over one single vaginal incision and fixed on both side on pelvic wall tissue with special anchors without passage through the groin avoiding a blind passage of tape. In comparison to the established suburethral tapes there are equal success rates with less complications. Randomized prospective studies are needed to evaluate whether, in the long run, the benefits of single incision technique can be associated with satisfying continence results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
