This thesis analyzes the corpus of the konungasögur ("Kings' sagas"), biographical and historiographical works composed between the 12th and 14th centuries in Iceland and Norway. The study focuses on the complex intersection of historical reality, literary devices, and political objectives. The work examines the evolution of the genre within the context of the Norwegian unification process (rikssamling) and the sociopolitical transformation of medieval Scandinavia.
