This article proposes an analysis of María Zambrano’s essay, “De vuelta al nuevo mundo”, the closing text of the autobiographical volume Delirio y destino. The paper recre-ates the end of María and Araceli Zambrano’s journey in 1951 from France to America, focusing on the stopover the two sisters made at La Guaira, a port near Caracas, before arriving in Cuba. The intense description of the landscape that we find in these pages, as well as the final reference to Emmanuel Mounier’s Adsum that we read in the beginning of Delirio y destino, show how this writing can be con-sidered paradigmatic for the entire thought of the philosopher, closing and at the same time reopening the cycle of her existence.

Abstract
This article proposes an analysis of María Zambrano’s essay, “De vuelta al nuevo mundo”, the closing text of the autobiographical volume Delirio y destino. The paper recre-ates the end of María and Araceli Zambrano’s journey in 1951 from France to America, focusing on the stopover the two sisters made at La Guaira, a port near Caracas, before arriving in Cuba. The intense description of the landscape that we find in these pages, as well as the final reference to Emmanuel Mounier’s Adsum that we read in the beginning of Delirio y destino, show how this writing can be con-sidered paradigmatic for the entire thought of the philosopher, closing and at the same time reopening the cycle of her existence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
