Since its establishment as a subspeciality of obstetrics and gynecology, urogynecology has always been closely linked to the possibilities of diagnostic imaging. Three-dimensional ultrasound (3D-US) is one of the latest development in diagnostic imaging and has specific advantages over two-dimensional imaging, such as arbitrary choice of picture plane and post-processing. As such, 3D-US is specifically applicable for urogynecologic clinical questions, such as residual volume measurement, imaging of diverticula and imaging of synthetic meshes and slings. In this article the possible applications of 3D-US in urogynecology are discussed. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Abstract
© 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
