Abstract
However different Tolkien and Pound may appear from one another, in terms of biographical profiles and literary productions, they actually have more than one thing in common, beginning with their philological training which is responsible for developing their lifelong interest in German and Romance medieval traditions, and their subsequent “cult of the word”, expressing itself in a systematic aesthetic theory. This essay compares the founding inspiration and main artistic solutions of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Cantos’, highlighting the most relevant formal, structural and conceptual correspondences between the two masterpieces, for a deeper understanding of the authors’ visions of the world and history.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
