The paper presents the results of a topographic study carried out in the municipalities of Corbetta and Albairate, in the western countryside of Milan (Italy), in the so-called spring area, aimed at mapping features representative of the archaeological potential. The research framework is multidisciplinary, including traditional methods of archaeological topography and innovative approaches like drone photogrammetry and GIS-based archaeological and paleoenvironmental mapping. This paper delivers the first outcomes of the interpretation of the landscape development in the longue durée, from Prehistory to Middle Ages.
