The mechanism of OSA is usually multifactorial and the obstruction in the upper airway is very likely to be multilevel, especially in moderate to severe OSA patients. Therefore, the success of surgery for treatment of OSA depends on the accurate diagnosis of the sites of obstruction and the appropriate selection of procedures to address these sites.
