Starting from the analysis of the EU-Singapore investment agreement, the paper discusses the interplay between EU international investment agreements and the principle of reciprocity set by Article 16 of the Italian General provisions on the law, with special focus on the appointment of foreign citizens to corporate offices. It is argued that the investment agreements negotiated by the Italian State provide for a wider variety of options to overcome the application of reciprocity in relation to corporate offices, compared to the treaties negotiated by the EU after the Lisbon Treaty entered into force.

Abstract
Starting from the analysis of the EU-Singapore investment agreement, the paper discusses the interplay between EU international investment agreements and the principle of reciprocity set by Article 16 of the Italian General provisions on the law, with special focus on the appointment of foreign citizens to corporate offices. It is argued that the investment agreements negotiated by the Italian State provide for a wider variety of options to overcome the application of reciprocity in relation to corporate offices, compared to the treaties negotiated by the EU after the Lisbon Treaty entered into force.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
