The aim of this paper is to present the app for smartphone created in-house by the developers of the University of Trento and dedicated to the management of study spaces in university libraries: UniTrentoApp > Reading rooms. This functionality is included in a broader app, meant for students, which provides news and allows real-time interactions on sources, documents and services for university life: exam booklet, teachers’ directory, lesson timetables, university news and, precisely, reading spaces. From go live in 2019, UniTrentoApp was installed on 21,500 devices; the latest update, with which the reading space booking service was implemented, was released on May 1st 2023. Through the app it is possible to book access to the libraries, check spaces availability in reading rooms in each library, reserve a group reading room or a work table.
