This contribution concerns the category of vulnerability and the role of rhetoric, explaining their intertwining in a desirable passage: from the rhetoric of vulnerability to the rhetoric of vulnerability. To avoid, therefore, mythologizing or, on the contrary, trivializing the scope of the vulnerability-concept, with the effect of overestimating, or, conversely, restricting the application of rules attributing rights, it is necessary to understand how to interpret it in concrete reality (for example, in the practice of judging the credibility of asylum seekers). This claim shows the need that the category of vulnerability has for rhetoric, as developed in recent developments in Aristotelian-based theory of argumentation.

Abstract
This contribution concerns the category of vulnerability and the role of rhetoric, explaining their intertwining in a desirable passage: from the rhetoric of vulnerability to the rhetoric of vulnerability. To avoid, therefore, mythologizing or, on the contrary, trivializing the scope of the vulnerability-concept, with the effect of overestimating, or, conversely, restricting the application of rules attributing rights, it is necessary to understand how to interpret it in concrete reality (for example, in the practice of judging the credibility of asylum seekers). This claim shows the need that the category of vulnerability has for rhetoric, as developed in recent developments in Aristotelian-based theory of argumentation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
