The article concernes the graphic history of the Italian newspaper la Repubblica in the period following the restyling of autumn 2007. Special attention is given to the analysis of the connections between the written text and its lay-out in the graphic context of the page. The study of single sections contstituing the newspaper intends to illus- trate the importance of the graphic choices in the shaping of the newspaper personality.
