This article discusses the novel NDBA concrete road safety barrier that can be installed in traditional and smart road infrastructures. This barrier presents an innovative anchorage system based on two "C" steel profiles incorporated into the terminal sections of each barrier module and a vertical HEM100 steel profile inserted for linking the barrier modules. The NDBA barrier has been first analysed by simulations (LS-DYNA software) and after by full-scale crash tests (TB11 and TB 81 crash tests). The research proves that the NDBA barrier is able to withstand two subsequent heavy vehicle (38t) impacts.

Abstract
This article discusses the novel NDBA concrete road safety barrier that can be installed in traditional and smart road infrastructures. This barrier presents an innovative anchorage system based on two "C" steel profiles incorporated into the terminal sections of each barrier module and a vertical HEM100 steel profile inserted for linking the barrier modules. The NDBA barrier has been first analysed by simulations (LS-DYNA software) and after by full-scale crash tests (TB11 and TB 81 crash tests). The research proves that the NDBA barrier is able to withstand two subsequent heavy vehicle (38t) impacts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
