This paper focuses on the prose poetry by Giampiero Neri. The works by Neri are very different from those of the Italian poetic Avant-guarde (such as Antonio Porta, Edoardo Sanguineti, Nanni Balestrini), which were published in the same years. At the same time, L’aspetto occidentale del vestito and the following books by Neri are far from the poetic experimentation of the poets born between the 1920s and the 1950s who followed the Montalian tradition (such as Vittorio Sereni, Giovanni Raboni, Giorgio Caproni). The purpose of this article is to show how Neri developed his own experimentation throughout the use of the prose, both resuming and renovating the Italian tradition of prose poetry, which had never been hegemonic.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the prose poetry by Giampiero Neri. The works by Neri are very different from those of the Italian poetic Avant-guarde (such as Antonio Porta, Edoardo Sanguineti, Nanni Balestrini), which were published in the same years. At the same time, L’aspetto occidentale del vestito and the following books by Neri are far from the poetic experimentation of the poets born between the 1920s and the 1950s who followed the Montalian tradition (such as Vittorio Sereni, Giovanni Raboni, Giorgio Caproni). The purpose of this article is to show how Neri developed his own experimentation throughout the use of the prose, both resuming and renovating the Italian tradition of prose poetry, which had never been hegemonic.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
