Synthesis of novel (+)-sclareolide-based homodrimane sesquiterpenoids bearing 1,3,4-oxadiazole or 1,3,4-thiadiazole units has been reported. These terpeno-heterocyclic compounds demonstrate promising antifungal and antibacterial activities toward fungal species Aspergillus niger, Fusarium solani, Penicillium chrysogenum, Penicillium frequentans, and Alternaria alternata and bacteria strains Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus sp. with minimum inhibitory concentration at μg/ml level.
