Il cambiamento del paesaggio geografico comense in epoca medievale: l’intervento imperiale e la ricostruzione del sistema difensivo cittadino

The Ten Years War (Guerra Decennale, 1118-1127), fought between the cities of Como and Milan ended with the destruction of the Larian city described by the work of Anonimo Cumano, an unknown poet whose lyrics were written during the years of the conflict. In an attempt to explore and describe how the Como defence system was reactivated by Frederick I Redbeard, the research focuses on the comparison of archaeological data and archival and cartographic documentation. The aim of the work is to analyse and understand how the geographical system of Como was modified following the imperial constructions. Thanks to the edification of Baradello, city walls and other structures, the defence system used since the Roman era was modified, by enhancing the southern side.
