The aim of this paper is to examine the connections between anthropology and apocalypse in Cioran’s eschatology. I will show how Cioran exploits the apocalyptic symbolism to approach the metaphysical issue concerning the sense of History in a skeptical humoristic way. According to this hypothesis, I will compare Cioran’s work with Beckett’s poetry, Lévy-Strauss’ anthropology, Hegel’s philosophy of history, and Kierkegaard’s definition of humor.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to examine the connections between anthropology and apocalypse in Cioran’s eschatology. I will show how Cioran exploits the apocalyptic symbolism to approach the metaphysical issue concerning the sense of History in a skeptical humoristic way. According to this hypothesis, I will compare Cioran’s work with Beckett’s poetry, Lévy-Strauss’ anthropology, Hegel’s philosophy of history, and Kierkegaard’s definition of humor.File in questo prodotto:
