Recent studies in aging and cognition have shown that people used to exercise their cognitive abilities have less probabilities to have dementia than people do not. Based on these evidences we started a four-session training of cognitive stimulation for health older adults. Here we show data concerning neuropsychological performances at baseline (imemory and attentional deficits) and oneyear follow-up (effectiveness of training). Preliminary evidences suggest that people who performed borderline in neuropsychological tests at baseline improve both in episodic memory and attention more than who had high performances.

Abstract
Recent studies in aging and cognition have shown that people used to exercise their cognitive abilities have less probabilities to have dementia than people do not. Based on these evidences we started a four-session training of cognitive stimulation for health older adults. Here we show data concerning neuropsychological performances at baseline (imemory and attentional deficits) and oneyear follow-up (effectiveness of training). Preliminary evidences suggest that people who performed borderline in neuropsychological tests at baseline improve both in episodic memory and attention more than who had high performances.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
