Recent progress in quantum optics and quantum information has brought the long-standing dreams of quantum simulators and even quantum computers (almost) within reach. Here, we review some current theoretical pathways supporting experimental progress towards quantum simulators. In this, we focus mainly on topological aspects and numerical studies of quantum computation. © Sociedad Española de Óptica.

Abstract
Recent progress in quantum optics and quantum information has brought the long-standing dreams of quantum simulators and even quantum computers (almost) within reach. Here, we review some current theoretical pathways supporting experimental progress towards quantum simulators. In this, we focus mainly on topological aspects and numerical studies of quantum computation. © Sociedad Española de Óptica.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
