This article examines some interlinear and marginal notes on Henry Aristippus' translation of the Platonic Phaedo transmitted in Leiden, UL, BPL Ms. 64. The content of these notes also appears in Henry Bate of Malines' Speculum divinorum et quorundam naturalium. In order to verify the hypothesis that Henry Bate owned the first codicological unit of Leiden, UL, BPL Ms. 64, the present contribution provides a collation of sections of the Speculum and the interlinear and marginal notes on the Phaedo. Findings from the collation allow us not only confirm the assumption that Henry Bate owned the text of the Phaedo transmitted in the Leiden UL, BPL Ms. 64, but also that he incorporated some specific marginalia transmitted in the same manuscript, using them as sources for his Speculum.
