Alternative al questionario. Inchieste nei campi di prigionia della prima guerra mondiale

The study of the unpublished papers of H. Morf preserved in the Archives J. Jud of Zurich, in particular of the correspondence with H. Urtel, allows to reconstruct the procedure used by linguists to collect the recordings of dialect voices in the prison camps of the first war world. The questionnaire was rarely used for the elitation. The registration was born from the collaboration with the informant. The article talks about the recordings of recently rediscovered Italian soldiers, which date back several decades to our sound knowledge of the dialects of the peninsula.
