The focus of this essay is the Jewish thought of the Israeli Rabbi Shimon Gershon Rosenberg (1949-2007), known as Rabbi Shagar. Presented for the first time to the Italian readership, Rabbi Shagar’s thought is an original combination of the classical Jewish philosophers (Maimonides, the Maharal, Nachman of Breslov, Rav Kook...) with some of the most influencial post-modern thinkers such as Lacan, Derrida, Baudrillard. The main issue is the possibility itself of (Jewish) faith today
