In this article author affords new information that enrich what we knew about Maximino Cano Gascón (1892 [Huesca] - 1973 [Ponferrada]), one of the first Spanish teachers who applied Celestin Freinet’s pedagogical methodology in Spain. At first between the years 1932-1933 in Las Hurdes, together with his colleague José Vargas; later in Badajoz, from 1933 to1936. In the period 1952-1956 Maximino Cano exerted his teaching task in El Bierzo (Escuela Nacional of Villadepalos), and from 1963 onward he resided in Ponferrada where he died. We have been able to complete his biography thanks to the collaboration of the children and grandchildren who have given us access to family archive.
