Scanningelectronmicroscopyshowedthattheresultantsiliconcarbidefoamshadafullyopen and interconnectedporousstructurewithdensestruts.Thesuitabilityofthesesiliconcarbidefoamsfor the adsorptionofnon-steroidalanti-inflammatory drugsandtheirmetaboliteswasstudied.Theresults showedthatsiliconcarbidefoamsadsorbedthetargetcompoundsandadsorptioncapacityincreases with increasingthecontacttimebetweenthefoamandtheanalytesinvestigated.
