Er doped ZnO-PbO tellurite glass ceramics were investigated using Raman and photoluminescence. Zn2Te3O8 crystals dominate the Raman spectra for low PbO content, but another phase, attributed to PbTeO3 is observed when the PbO content is increased. Photoluminescence broadening and intensity changes were observed in crystallized samples and attributed to the variation of local crystal environment around the erbium ions. The result confirms that the crucial erbium emission broadening and intensity variation is mainly due to Er3+ in Zn2Te3O8 crystals.

Abstract
Er doped ZnO-PbO tellurite glass ceramics were investigated using Raman and photoluminescence. Zn2Te3O8 crystals dominate the Raman spectra for low PbO content, but another phase, attributed to PbTeO3 is observed when the PbO content is increased. Photoluminescence broadening and intensity changes were observed in crystallized samples and attributed to the variation of local crystal environment around the erbium ions. The result confirms that the crucial erbium emission broadening and intensity variation is mainly due to Er3+ in Zn2Te3O8 crystals.File in questo prodotto:
