In the last years torrefaction process has been investigated providing results usually referred to random conditions in terms of temperature, ranging from 240°C to 300°C, and time, from 30 minutes to 1-2 hours. The purpose of this work is to investigate the influence of temperature and time on final quality of torrefied biomass by referring the conditions at selected values of Mass Yield (M.Y.) respectively to 90%, 80%, 70%. The main result is that imposing similar M.Y values, even if obtained by following different thermal pathways, similar values of E.D. and E.Y are achieved. Weekly influenced is observed by changing the nitrogen heating flow: a reduction on flow of 50% reduces the M.Y. of about 10%. Further on it emerges that the thermal efficiency of the process is mostly effected by the temperature at which the process is carried out.

Abstract
Further on it emerges that the thermal efficiency of the process is mostly effected by the temperature at which the process is carried out.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
