The survey of the East-West AMU Highway in the wilaya of El Tarf has been conducted when the track was already completely cleared. Ancient remains have been found standing only on both sides of the track: three ancient sites (ET-012, ET-013, ET-003) are in an area at risk and they may be interested in further building of the highway and its service areas. The area including the sites ET-009 ET-010 was severely damaged by earthworks: 1 dolmen (at 2 m from the highway). The area has three sources which have encouraged human settlement during the pre-and protohistoric, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic and modern period. The building of the highway at the foothill of Sebaa Regoud (Seven Sleepers) has destroyed much of a protohistoric site (a dolmen) and a village of at least six rural settlements active in Roman and Byzantine period, equipped with ten oil presses.

Abstract
The building of the highway at the foothill of Sebaa Regoud (Seven Sleepers) has destroyed much of a protohistoric site (a dolmen) and a village of at least six rural settlements active in Roman and Byzantine period, equipped with ten oil presses.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
