The synthesis of sub-arrayed antennas generating a radiation pattern suitable for wireless power transmission is addressed in this work. The sub-array configuration and the sub-array weights are defined by means of an excitation matching strategy such that the synthesized pattern is characterized by a beam collection efficiency close as much as possible to that of an optimal reference solution. Towards this aim, the contiguous partition method has been suitably exploited to match the reference excitations providing a maximum beam collection efficiency. A set of numerical examples is reported to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.

Abstract
The synthesis of sub-arrayed antennas generating a radiation pattern suitable for wireless power transmission is addressed in this work. The sub-array configuration and the sub-array weights are defined by means of an excitation matching strategy such that the synthesized pattern is characterized by a beam collection efficiency close as much as possible to that of an optimal reference solution. Towards this aim, the contiguous partition method has been suitably exploited to match the reference excitations providing a maximum beam collection efficiency. A set of numerical examples is reported to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
