This contribution presents a new comparative experimental assessment of methodologies for quantitative electromagnetic imaging of unknown scatterers from amplitude-only measurements of the total field. The proposed reconstruction procedure splits the problem in two steps. The first step is aimed at estimating the distribution of the radiated field in the investigation domain in order to complete the scattering data. Then, the reconstruction of the scenario from amplitude-only data is carried out in a second step considering both deterministic and stochastic multi-scaling strategies.

Abstract

This contribution presents a new comparative experimental assessment of methodologies for quantitative electromagnetic imaging of unknown scatterers from amplitude-only measurements of the total field. The proposed reconstruction procedure splits the problem in two steps. The first step is aimed at estimating the distribution of the radiated field in the investigation domain in order to complete the scattering data. Then, the reconstruction of the scenario from amplitude-only data is carried out in a second step considering both deterministic and stochastic multi-scaling strategies.
