In this paper, the architecture of a fully-adaptive smart antenna working in the 2.4 GHz band has been described and validated. The system prototype consists of four modules. As far as the radiating module is concerned, it consists of a 8-elements linear array of dipoles connected to electronically-driven weights controlled by a PSO-based control module. In order to preliminary assess the effectiveness of the proposed implementation, a result concerning an example of interference scenario has been discussed.

Abstract

In this paper, the architecture of a fully-adaptive smart antenna working in the 2.4 GHz band has been described and validated. The system prototype consists of four modules. As far as the radiating module is concerned, it consists of a 8-elements linear array of dipoles connected to electronically-driven weights controlled by a PSO-based control module. In order to preliminary assess the effectiveness of the proposed implementation, a result concerning an example of interference scenario has been discussed.
