«Ma venne un cavalier dall’armi d’oro»: la guerra delle donne in "L’invasore" e "Vae victis!" di Annie Vivanti

Nell’estate del 1915 va in scena a Milano il dramma L’invasore di Annie Vivanti, intensa rappresentazione della violenza sulle donne belghe durante l'occupazione tedesca. Lo stesso soggetto, definito dalla critica audace e strano, viene sviluppato nel romanzo Vae victis! del 1917. In entrambe le opere l’autrice pone al centro l’efferato stupro di Chérie e Luisa, sviluppando poi il tema della maternità involontaria. In the summer of 1915, Annie Vivanti’s drama L’invasore, the intense depiction of violence against women during the German occupation of Belgium, is staged in Milan. The same subject, defined by critics as daring and weird, is developed in the 1917 novel Vae Victis!. In both works, the authoress focuses on the brutal rape of Chérie and Luisa, and subsequently develops the theme of unintentional motherhood.
