The presentation examines Italy’s grapevine pre-multiplication centres (Nuclei di Premoltiplicazione Viticola). They are public-private partnerships that give nurseries access to publicly bred clones, and they are structurally fragile. In the absence of a single national aggregating body, the centres are coming together de facto through the BiBaseNuclei platform and its operating rules. The result is a hybrid governance model held together by digital infrastructure.
