With special reference to Logica come scienza del concetto puro, published in 1909, this essay retraces Benedetto Croce’s references to Aristotle (especially to the Organon and the Metafisica) with the aim of analyzing their meaning and theoretical significance. Particular attention is devoted to the following aspects: (1) the background and sources of Croce’s interpretation of Aristotle; (2) the crucial role assigned to Aristotle in the history of logic (and, more generally, of philosophy), with special regard to his designation as the “father of logic”; (3) the complex and non-linear connection established by Croce between Aristotle and Hegel, and between their respective ways of conceiving and constructing logic.

Abstract
With special reference to Logica come scienza del concetto puro, published in 1909, this essay retraces Benedetto Croce’s references to Aristotle (especially to the Organon and the Metafisica) with the aim of analyzing their meaning and theoretical significance. Particular attention is devoted to the following aspects: (1) the background and sources of Croce’s interpretation of Aristotle; (2) the crucial role assigned to Aristotle in the history of logic (and, more generally, of philosophy), with special regard to his designation as the “father of logic”; (3) the complex and non-linear connection established by Croce between Aristotle and Hegel, and between their respective ways of conceiving and constructing logic.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
