This paper presents a part of a study aimed at understanding SMEs behaviour in approaching foreign markets. It takes into consideration a sample of South African SMEs and larger companies working in the textile and clothing industry. The analysis of the results is mostly descriptive and aims at comparing SMEs’ and larger firms’ reasons for entering foreign markets, their selection process of specific markets, and their collection of information.
