The representation of the argument structures of verbs has received little attention in the lexicography of the Italian language. Two important exceptions stand out: the monolingual DISC-Dizionario italiano Sabatini Coletti and the WIV-Wörterbuch der italienischen Verben, dedicated to Italian verbs, and provided with a section for their translation into German. The objectives and the approaches to the valency theory adopted in the two dictionaries are illustrated through the analysis of two very frequent verba dicendi, dire e parlare.

Abstract
The representation of the argument structures of verbs has received little attention in the lexicography of the Italian language. Two important exceptions stand out: the monolingual DISC-Dizionario italiano Sabatini Coletti and the WIV-Wörterbuch der italienischen Verben, dedicated to Italian verbs, and provided with a section for their translation into German. The objectives and the approaches to the valency theory adopted in the two dictionaries are illustrated through the analysis of two very frequent verba dicendi, dire e parlare.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
