This essay explores how Giordano Bruno engages with Lucretius’ De rerum natura to develop a cosmological perspective that, while embracing the poem’s vision of an infinite universe and the unpredictable multiplicity of events, rejects the notion of eternal return. The analysis highlights the thematic convergence between Lucretius’ atomistic cosmos and Bruno’s conception of an infinite, dynamic universe. It argues that Bruno inherits and transforms Lucretian motifs to construct a philosophical framework in which the boundless plurality of worlds and destinies unfolds without cyclical repetition, emphasizing novelty and continuous differentiation as fundamental ontological principles
