Sistemi digitali integrati per la conoscenza, la valorizzazione e l’intervento sul patrimonio storico costruito = Integrated Digital Systems for Knowledge, Enhancement and Intervention on the Historical Built Heritage

For several decades, historiography has relied on sources that have little or nothing in common with traditional writing. Historians have increasingly learned to handle intangible and even virtual resources more effectively. The ease of access to a wide range of digital and digitized sources has raised important questions about the truth, evidence, and authenticity of these sources, as well as their selection, preservation, and durability. This doctoral research aims to define a procedure, or set of best practices, for creating an integrated digital system (repository) of historical built heritage, based on a specific case study. We identified Piazza Duomo in Trento as a pilot case study for the development of general guidelines. We developed procedures and critical reflections to support the creation of a digital repository through practical and methodological training, historical and geometric data collection, and collaborative projects focused on enhancing the built heritage.
