Reading continues to be an important leisure activity during early adole- scence, a period characterized by significant transformations. Narratives are central to the process of identity shaping during this stage. Despite such a prominent role, research concerning the impact of reading on early adole- scent development remains limited. This paper presents and analyzes the findings of an exploratory study examining Italian early adolescents’ attitu- des toward pleasure reading. The quantitative study involved 234 middle school students in the province of Belluno, Italy. The data provide insights into the reasons why children aged 11 to 14 enjoy or do not enjoy reading in their free time.

This paper presents and analyzes the findings of an exploratory study examining Italian early adolescents’ attitu- des toward pleasure reading. The quantitative study involved 234 middle school students in the province of Belluno, Italy. The data provide insights into the reasons why children aged 11 to 14 enjoy or do not enjoy reading in their free time.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
