DDuring archaeological research in Oberding (Erding, Bavaria), four pits and a post hole were found with pieces of pottery and many bronze shards attributable to bronze ingots. The set of animal bones comprises 122 remains, of which 61 were identified by species. All remains belong to domestic animals (cattle, goats, pigs and dogs). There is a selection of body parts with a predilection for the cranial skeleton, also of interest are the fine cuts on a dog atlas. In Europe, the use of hoards containing metal objects in association with animal remains is, so far, little documented. However, it is very likely that the faunal finds from Oberding are linked to particular practices established on a broader chronological and geographical scale. Comparison with the faunas of some settlements belonging to the Straubing culture allows us to exclude the hypothesis that the remains of this study are disposed meal remains.

Abstract
Comparison with the faunas of some settlements belonging to the Straubing culture allows us to exclude the hypothesis that the remains of this study are disposed meal remains.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
