The book has investigated the role of accounting and accountability during this pandemic with the idea of taking some lessons from this experience. This chapter proposes five main directions to take action in the future. First, this book offers a major contribution to clearly highlighting the prominent role of accounting and accountability within society. Second, the COVID-19 pandemic has been an interesting case from which to reflect on the role of accounting and managing accounting for managing uncertainty and, third, on the way of doing business. This globally challenging event has highlighted the value of a company’s long-term thinking and stakeholder orientation, thus triggering academics and practitioners to potentially consider a systems-thinking approach to businesses. Fourth, the chapter offers insightful contributions in terms of the interplay between psychology, pedagogy and accounting, in many different ways, also including the higher educational setting as the last contribution.
