MULTIPLE ION treatments are being considered as a possible outlook of the use of different particle beams, exploiting at once their different physical and radiobiological features. While technical feasibility of multi-ion facilities with fast particle switching seems not to be prohibitive, different planning approaches to exploit the potential benefits of such treatments, and thus justifying their cost, have been developed in Europe and Japan, and are summarized in the present chapter.

Abstract
MULTIPLE ION treatments are being considered as a possible outlook of the use of different particle beams, exploiting at once their different physical and radiobiological features. While technical feasibility of multi-ion facilities with fast particle switching seems not to be prohibitive, different planning approaches to exploit the potential benefits of such treatments, and thus justifying their cost, have been developed in Europe and Japan, and are summarized in the present chapter.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione
