Sprachkontakt generativ: Eine Untersuchung kontaktbedingten syntaktischen Wandels im Zimbrischen

The publication is a contribution to the study of the dynamics of syntactic language contact and contact-induced language change within the theoretical framework of generative grammar. It also provides insights into the syntax of Cimbrian, one of the oldest German-based dialects outside the German(ic) continuum. Since its beginnings in the 19th century, German linguistics and dialectology have regarded Cimbrian as a language variety on which new formal descriptive tools and analytical methods could be applied and tested. It continues to be an ideal model object for studying processes and testing theories in the innovatively developing field of contact linguistics.
