Interest for mass customization (MC) is constantly growing in industry and academia. However, a number of failures in adopting MC has been reported. It seems that the academic knowledge accumulated on MC is transferred to practice to a limited extent. Actually, this transfer of knowledge is made more difficult by the fact that research on MC implementation is scattered throughout the literature. This paper reviews MC literature with the purpose of providing a comprehensive and structured overview of prior research on MC implementation methodology. The analysis is still ongoing and further findings are expected.

Abstract
Interest for mass customization (MC) is constantly growing in industry and academia. However, a number of failures in adopting MC has been reported. It seems that the academic knowledge accumulated on MC is transferred to practice to a limited extent. Actually, this transfer of knowledge is made more difficult by the fact that research on MC implementation is scattered throughout the literature. This paper reviews MC literature with the purpose of providing a comprehensive and structured overview of prior research on MC implementation methodology. The analysis is still ongoing and further findings are expected.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
